Fafner's 遁世居

當我買《好詩大家讀》（彭鏡禧、夏燕生譯）這本翻譯詩集時，最引我注意的，是本書的第一首詩——莎士比亞的十四行詩〈我情人的眼一點也不像太陽〉（William Shakespeare, "My Mistress' Eyes Are Nothing Like the Sun"）；因為，史汀（Sting）1987 年的專輯，名稱就叫 "...Nothing Like the Sun"。

台灣唱片公司對這張專輯的官方翻譯名稱是《太陽萬能》，所以，這又是一則誤譯。這張專輯，爵士風格濃厚，是張不是很合流行品味，但聽了會上癮的專輯。

Sting 為本專輯命名的靈感，自然是來自莎士比亞的詩，而在他專輯裡的 "Sister Moon" 這首歌，最後一段歌詞，就直接引用本詩的第一句："My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun"。如果按照台灣唱片公司的翻譯邏輯，那這句歌詞，似乎該翻為「我情人的雙眼，像太陽一般無敵」了。

這首詩，是「情人眼中出西施」的代表，若換成今日的標準改寫，那可能會說「我情人的眼是單眼皮，她沒有櫻桃小口，也沒有飄逸的長髮，她不背名牌包，也沒有 D 奶……」
